John is the CEO for Aon’s Australian & New Zealand Reinsurance Solutions operation. He leads a team comprising the largest and most experienced group of technical reinsurance professionals in Australia and New Zealand. The firm draws on its local and global analytical capabilities utilising the best in experience, knowledge and modelling resources to provide value to its Australian, New Zealand and Pacific Island clients through the full range of reinsurance services it provides.
John has over 32 years’ experience within the reinsurance industry – he has spent the last 11 years with Aon where he has been Head of Broking before assuming the role of CEO in January 2023. He previously had a 5 year stint at Guy Carpenter Australia where he was responsible for all aspects of GC’s treaty broking operations during that time and, prior to joining the broking fraternity, John spent 16 years with Swiss Re with his last role being Head of Client Management for Swiss Re’s Australian and New Zealand operations – a role that also included reporting line responsibility for that company’s Facultative Underwriting and Claims Management functions.
