Ben is a Director in EY’s Financial Services Tax Practice and has over 13 years’ experience specialising in GST. Ben advises several of Australia’s largest multi-national and domestic financial institutions in the Insurance, Wealth and Asset Management and Banking sectors.
Ben’s experience includes assisting with cross border transactions, restructures, GST apportionment, transactions/mergers and acquisitions, ATO GST audits, GST governance, GST process and system reviews and ongoing compliance obligations in relation to GST.
Recent projects have included several GST data analytics and automation engagements which assist clients not only to identify GST risks and opportunities from transactional level data, but also improve efficiencies and better manage risks through the use of advanced technology. These projects also aim to use data analytics to satisfy the ATO’s “Justified Trust” Streamlined Assurance Reviews (“SAR”).
