Anna is an experienced tax advisor, who specialises in assisting clients within the financial services and insurance industries with GST issues, leveraging her technical expertise to deliver technology-enabled tax transformation solutions for clients.

Experience

Anna has extensive experience in working with clients in the financial services industry (banks, credit unions, insurers, fund managers) to assess tax risks on their transactions, and in designing appropriate controls and data testing to ensure the integrity of the transactional data used to complete GST returns.

She has assisted multiple clients with complex GST reviews (both client and ATO initiated), and has a proven track record of assisting clients in managing their GST risks and realising GST opportunities.

Industry/sector experience

Anna’s experience includes the following:

• Leading the GST stream responsible for delivering the successful design and implementation of a complex GST transformation and data analytics project. This was the largest project of its kind undertaken in Australia, and resulted in a best in class co-sourced indirect tax delivery model being designed and built to address the client’s specific requirements and objectives.
• Leading an Australian apportionment, reduced input tax credit and GST governance and control review (assisted through use of data analytics) of a significant global insurer and reinsurer, including identifying GST risks and opportunities and mitigation solutions.
• Providing advice to various fund managers and superannuation funds on their apportionment methodologies and entitlement to claim reduced input tax credits, including liaising with the ATO as required to obtain private rulings.
