Join us for a back to basics session which revisits the interaction between the income tax law for general insurers and AASB 17 including a review of the key principles on which general insurers are taxed and associated technical matters with the transition to AASB 17.
David Farrugia is a tax partner in EY Melbourne with 19 years' experience and a specialisation in the insurance industry. David's client base includes many of the largest insurers in the country (both Australian headquartered and inbounds) and he has assisted many clients with their transition to AASB 17 and navigating through the various technical issues.
Jim Iliopoulos is a tax partner in EY Sydney with 22 years' experience and a specialisation in insurance. Jim's client base includes both Australian and inbound insurers. Jim was involved in the industry consultation in respect to the AASB 17 transition as well as various other matters impacting the insurance industry.
