On 23 June 2013, the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) released its International Financial Reporting Standards Exposure Draft ED 2013/7 Insurance Contracts. The IASB is inviting public comment on the ED which needs to be submitted by 25 October 2013.
To help Member companies understand the implications of the Exposure Draft a breakfast seminar will be held on Tuesday 13 August 2013 in Sydney, during which speakers from the IASB, AASB and Industry will provide their thoughts on the Exposure Draft. Whilst any official standard will not come into effect until 2017, this is your opportunity to learn first hand what reporting changes are being proposed and contribute to any required amendments.
The FSAA is fortunate to have as guest speaker Joanna Yeoh IASB Senior Technical Manager address the seminar along with AASB Director - International Activities, Sue Lightfoot. Complimenting the panel from an Industry perspective will be Graham Duff, Statutory Reporting Manager, Accounting Policy & Advice, AMP.
