The clock is ticking down to 1 January 2013, when APRA’s new capital standards will take effect. Industry participants are assessing the impact that the new rules will have on their business, and deciding on what action they need to take before 1 January. During the presentation we will cover, with a particular focus on general insurance:
Geoff Atkins is an actuary and director of Finity Consulting, and has been consulting in general insurance since 1984. Geoff’s experience covers a wide range of insurance issues in both the public and private sectors. He has been an adviser to many insurance and reinsurance companies and also to a number of CTP and workers compensation schemes in Australia and NZ. Read more about Geoff online.
Francis is an actuary and consultant with Finity Consulting, where he started in 2006. He is the project manager for Finity’s internal centre of excellence for Appointed Actuaries. This team stays abreast of APRA, Institute of Actuaries, and accounting rules and regulations, and keeps Finity staff current on the key aspects of how they are required to approach their work. Francis has a keen interest in the financial dynamics of general insurers, and has worked on Dynamic Financial Analysis and financial statement modelling for a number of insurers over the past six years, covering areas such as medical indemnity, home and motor, and commercial classes.
