The FSAA Tax Day Committee recently met to discuss the likelihood of a Tax Day being held in 2020. Given the current restrictions due to the COVID 19 pandemic, it was agreed not to hold a Tax Day this year. We will look to bring this event back to you in 2021.
The 2019 Tax Day was held on Thursday 19 September at Park Royal Hotel Darling Harbour, Sydney.
The day kicked-off with Andrew McLoughlin, Deputy Inspector General of Taxation being interviewed by David Watkins of Deloitte. This session was followed by Robert Thomson, Assistant Commissioner at the ATO who provided an update on the ATO's Top 1000 Tax Performance Program.
