Presenting Introduction & Module 1, Insurance Accounting Stephen is currently working with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission on the northern Australia insurance inquiry. He is a chartered accountant and has been working in the Insurance industry for over 12 years (with 15 years in total in accounting and audit). He has spent the majority of his career in professional services providing assurance and advisory services to various parts of the insurance sector, including; general insurers, life insurers, brokers, and other intermediaries. He recently spent five years as a Director at Deloitte in Sydney, with the six years prior to this also in insurance external audit in the Netherlands and Bermuda. Stephen is a member and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Presenting Module 2 - APRA Andrew was a Director of the FSAA and has been the Chair of the Education Committee for over 10 years. Andrew is a Partner at KPMG specialising in Insurance and Superannuation for over 30 years. Andrew is an APRA approved auditor and his roles at KPMG involve leading a wide range of regulated audits. Andrew has audited or consulted to most large Australian general insurers and reinsurers. Previous roles have included working as the General Manager Reinsurance for HIH (in liquidation). Andrew is a Life Member of the FSAA and has been actively involved in the education programme since 1995. Outside work Andrew is a Director of Studio ARTES, a disability services charity, and is married with 2 children.
Presenting Module 3 - Management Accounting
Stephen is a qualified CPA, with over 20 years of experience in the Financial Services industry. He currently works at Insurance Australia Group (IAG) as the Executive Manager for Group Performance Reporting. Stephen’s team is responsible for delivering regular financial performance reports to the IAG Board and Group Leadership Team, coordinating the Group’s budgeting and forecasting and supporting IAG’s investor reporting process. The team, along with the broader finance function, is focused on continually improving management reporting at IAG to ensure senior leaders are provided with the right information and insights to make informed decisions.
Presenting Module 4, Liabilities & Implications Brendan is the Delivery and Solutions Actuary within the Superannuation, Retirement and New Propositions team at TAL. He has 13 years of actuarial and professional services experience, across general insurance, life insurance and investments. Brendan is an Associate of the Actuaries Institute since 2016. Brendan has consulted to a number of insurers and reinsurers across a broad spectrum of issues including, liability valuations, capital management, pricing and statutory reporting. Brendan has been presenting the Liabilities module for the FSAA General Insurance Intermediate Course for the past 3 years.
Presenting Module 5 - Reinsurance Reg Campbell has 45 years of insurance and reinsurance experience and is currently responsible for treaty placements, client management and regulatory issues at Aon Benfield. Prior to joining Aon Benfield in 2007, Reg spent 34 years with the Promina Group, where he worked in a number of senior claims and underwriting roles. In 1993 Reg was appointed to the role of Reinsurance Manager for Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Australia Limited. Reg has almost 25 years’ experience in the design and placement of reinsurance programs. During his career with the Promina Group, Reg managed the reinsurance department and controlled the purchase and administration of reinsurance programs. He has had extensive consultation and involvement with management, finance, claims and actuarial departments on all aspects of reinsurance placements. In his role at Aon Benfield, Reg has been involved in the design and placement of reinsurance programs for Aon Benfield clients. Reg has been actively involved in a number of industry seminars and training programs. He is a past Chairman of the ANZIIF Reinsurance Faculty Advisory Board and a past member of the NSW Branch Executive Committee of ANZIIF. Reg has also been involved in the organisation of ANZIIF Reinsurance Study Course for the last 10 years and is a current member of the RISC Committee. Reg has been presenting the Reinsurance module for the FSAA General Insurance Intermediate Course for the past 2 years.

Presenting Module 6 - Control Cycle Wei is a Senior Consultant based in Finity’s Sydney office, with over 11 years of General Insurance Consulting experience. Wei is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries Australia since 2008. During his career Wei has consulted to a number of insurers on Appointed Actuary matters including outstanding claims and premium liability valuation, financial condition reporting, corporate planning and budgeting, capital modelling and forecasting, as well as providing training to insurers’ internal staff. Wei also specialises in pricing and customer analytics for both personal and commercial line portfolios.
