Introduction and Purpose of Course

Stephen is the CEO of the FSAA. He is a chartered accountant and has been working in the Insurance industry for over 12 years (with 15 years in total in accounting and audit). He has spent the majority of his career in professional services providing assurance and advisory services to various parts of the insurance sector. He recently spent five years as a Director at Deloitte in Sydney, with the six years prior to this also in insurance external audit in the Netherlands and Bermuda. Stephen is a member and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Matthew Moore has worked in and around private health insurance for over 20 years in a number of strategic and operational roles including risk, IT, and senior executive roles.  He has a deep understanding of the regulatory and financial underpinnings of private health insurance businesses, and the way the health system functions within the Australian market.

Deirdre Rose, Deloitte

Presenting Module 2 - Reporting under IFRS 17  Deirdre Rose is a Director at Deloitte Audit & Assurance (A&A) with over 13 years of experience across advisory, audit-related and technical matters. She has extensive insurance and audit experience in Oceania, South Africa and the US.  Deirdre has assisted as a subject matter expert and managed a number of IFRS17 strategic and subledger implementation projects over the past 5 years. She has further provided training on IFRS17 accounting issues, both internally and externally, targeting an audience of accountants, actuaries and data specialists.

Nirosana Maheswaran is a consultant at Finity Consulting with over 10 years' experience in actuarial services across both health and general insurance. She has experience across reserving, capital, reinsurance and regulatory reporting.
